🎶 DATE – A Melodic Percussion Experience for Two (or Three… or Four)

Looking for something different to do with your partner, besties, or even your mom and dad?

Looking for a special way to connect with your partner(s), metamour, or chosen family?

Welcome to Date – a one-of-a-kind melodic percussion session where you’ll explore instruments like the marimba, vibraphone, and more. No experience? No problem. This isn’t your typical music lesson. It’s part sound adventure, part creative play, part chill-out time.

In just one session, you’ll:

• Tap into the basics of music theory (without the boring bits—feel the different intonation, color of the chords and scales)

• Gently develop your listening awareness

• Get to play instruments you rarely see and enjoy their beautiful, resonant sound

• Discover the joy of playing together

• And most importantly—relax and have fun

• A unique visit and experience at treehouse NDSM

It’s a shared experience, not a solo. Perfect for pairs or small groups (up to 4 people), whether you're on a date-night, family outing, friend hang, mother-daughter or father-son bonding, or just trying something new.

No pressure. No performance. Just a chance to connect, laugh, and make a little music together. You can always come back for more sessions.

More than a workshop—a community
Over time, I hope to build a community where people come not only once and not only to relax and create, but to support one another and grow through shared experiences in sound. We could give concerts, organise gatherings, and many more activities.

About the location
The workshops take place at Treehouse NDSM, a unique artistic hub in Amsterdam Noord. Just a 15-minute ferry ride from behind Central Station, the journey itself offers beautiful views of the IJ river. Once you arrive, you can explore Treehouse artists studios and exhibitions. The surrounding NDSM Wharf is full of creative energy and industrial charm—perfect for a post-workshop wander. Great nearby spots like Pllek, IJver, and Noorderlicht are ideal for a cozy drink or lunch with friends.

This workshop is part of Treehouse Creative School, a platform of artistic workshops, courses and lessons organised by the professional artists working at Treehouse NDSM. From visual art and crafts, to music and theatre, our community is eager to share the knowledge and skills they use in their practice. At Treehouse Creative School, people from all ages and levels of experience can meet, exchange and explore their creative potential together in an inspiring environment.
